I'm not sure if there is anywhere else in the world they build "rock pools" adjacent to the ocean. In this case, two of the sides of the pool are natural. The first is a giant cliff face; the natural escarpment around that defines this part of the coast. The other is an extension of the rocks that juts into the ocean, protecting swimmers from waves as they crash into it, washing new water into the pool, pushing out water previously trapped, continuously naturally cleaning it out. If you had to pick a pool to swim lengths, you would be hard pressed to find a place quite as special as the North Curl pool.

Feb 19: Sydney Beaches
Touring of Sydney continued the next day, as I explored some of the famous beaches: Bondi Beach, and Manly Beach. I also visited one of the best kept secrets around: the North Curl pool.
